On December 15, Esteban Pardo, representing Play Arquitectura, gave a lecture entitled “The historical view of contemporary architecture” in the Graduation Hall of the Quintiliano Building of the University of La Rioja. 

The conference dealt with the approach to the architectural project of two great masters of architecture, Jorn Utzon and Rafael Moneo, through their profound capacity for historical understanding. The tour of two of their great works, Casa Lis and the Logroño City Hall, shows how contemporary architecture can have its origin and its discourse based entirely on the historical or cultural origin of the site in which it is located. The art of the masters and their capacity for synthesis turn these works of architecture into true master classes in history. 

Villamediana Library nominated for the Golden Gypsum Awards

Esteban Pardo, representing Play Arquitectura, participated as a guest speaker at the 7th Spanish Passivhaus Conference

Last October the awards were announced for the British construction magazine BUILD and Play Architecture was awarded with the prize of Most Sustainable and Innovative Architecture Studio in Passivhaus. 

With this award, Godwin Developments magazine recognises Play Arquitectura's work in 2015 in the field of Sustainability and Innovation in Passivhaus construction, in front of its 368,000 subscribers.

On November 4, the tender for the comprehensive renovation of the building at Calle Doctores Castroviejo 9, in Logroño, La Rioja, was published on the State procurement platform.

On September 29, 2015, one day after the inauguration of the Municipal Library of Villamediana de Iregua, the official certificate from the Passivhaus Institute was received, certifying compliance with the Passivhaus standard. This certificate guarantees that the heating demand will be less than 15 kWh/m²a, that the total primary energy demand will be less than 120 kWh/m²a, that the air tightness value is less than 0.6 h-1 and that the comfort and hygiene conditions of the interior space are unbeatable. 

The Villamediana de Iregua Library thus becomes the first public building in Spain certified with the Nearly Zero Energy Building standard. Passivhaus, being in turn the first certified Passivhaus building in La Rioja.

On September 28, 2015, the museum was officially inaugurated. The Municipal Library of Villamediana de IreguaThis building stands out for being the first public building in Spain certified with the Nearly Zero Energy Building standard. Passivhaus. During the inauguration, which was attended by the President of the Autonomous Community of La Rioja, the President of the Autonomous Parliament, several Councillors, the Municipal Corporation and many citizens of the municipality, the Mayor of Villamediana de Iregua highlighted the municipality's commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability through Urban Planning and construction and rehabilitation with the Passivhaus standard.

On August 25, the new U42 park in Villamediana de Iregua was opened to public use, with a total area of 1,885 m2

On June 4, 2015, the final Blower door test was carried out at the The Library of Villamediana de Iregua with a result of 0.40 h-¹, thus improving the result obtained during the construction phase in March. The test was carried out again by Energiehaus and the staff responsible for the construction company Harinsa Navasfalt, the managers of the companies Onhaus, which supplied the sealing material, and Carpintería LLodiana, which supplied and installed all the windows in the project, as well as the technical management of Play Arquitectura, attended the event. With this test, the construction phase is practically complete and we are entering the final stretch of the Passivhaus standard certification.
