Single-Family Homes in Colmenar

ANDThe project is based on the idea of building five volumes of two semi-detached houses each, plus a sixth volume for a detached house. Each volume is conceived as a solid mass into which different hollows are made to generate the semi-exterior spaces of the house, such as the entrance and living porches in the case of the ground floor, or the semi-closed patios in the case of the first floor.

The layout of the houses in height, forming two rows, one higher than the other, as well as the inclination of the facades on the ground floor, allows all the houses to have unobstructed views of the landscape. The facades are made with only two materials, exposed brick for the outer skin and IPE wood slats for the recesses.

Concept

The slope of the terrain allows the basements to also have large windows, thus creating living areas with access to the pool.

The challenge of this project was to play with the unevenness of the terrain to generate a modern yet functional design.
