King's Rod Building in Logroño

ANDThis project involves the reconstruction of a historic building in the centre of Logroño with a programme of 5 apartments, parking spaces, premises and storage rooms, with a total constructed area of 2,866 m2 on the basement, ground floor, 5 upper floors and attic.

The reconstruction is carried out with a high-performance envelope finished on the outside with a mortar plaster and with wooden carpentry reproducing all the typological characteristics of the existing building, of which the bay windows and all the mouldings and corbels of the façade stand out, which had to be faithfully reproduced.

Concept

This work consisted of a very respectful reconstruction of the original building, whose façade on Vara de Rey Street is characterised by a composition and level of detail in the mouldings, corbels, eaves and balconies of great heritage interest.

Renovation always presents challenges and requires the utmost respect for integrating the old with the new. However, new construction techniques and materials also allow for a significant improvement in comfort.
