Social Security Offices Fuengirola

LThe proposal for the new Social Security offices in Fuengirola consists of a building with two basement floors, a ground floor and two upper floors with a surface area of 1,970 m2.

Due to the small size of the plot and its trapezoidal shape, it was proposed to round the corners of the building, to improve the fluidity of the open spaces and improve the vehicular circulation to access the basement parking lots. By rounding the corners, the building takes on a more friendly and dynamic character, which in turn recalls the shapes polished by the sea that we can find on the coast.

Concept

To give a neutral treatment to the volume and unify the composition of the openings, providing them with a solar protection system, the exterior of the building has been covered with a Flex-Brick type mesh, giving it the appearance of an Andalusian lattice as an element of solar protection and traditional privacy protection.
From the point of view of the façade composition, the opening sizes have been adapted to the needs of the program by opening large openings in the west and south facades where the common spaces and open-plan offices are located, smaller openings in the east facing individual offices and minimal openings in the north facing where the service rooms are located.

The new building is designed to meet the Passivhaus Plus standard, generating more energy than it consumes, while also complying with the BREEAM certification.
